When the Minnesota State Capitol was completed in 1906, the battle scars of the Civil War were still fresh in people’s minds. Featuring Minnesota’s involvement in the war was of great importance to the building’s planners. On this week’s program, Brian Pease of the Minnesota Historical Society joins Capitol Report Shannon Loehrke to showcase some of the irreplaceable art and artifacts that are displayed in the state’s most prominent public building.
