Measures to diminish distracted driving are moving quickly through the Senate. Senator Scott Newman, R-Hutchinson, chair of the Transportation Committee and author of Senate File 91, the so-called hands-free bill, joins Capitol Report moderator Shannon Loehrke to talk about the proposals.
According to the Pew Research Center, more than 80 percent of Americans are in support of paid family and medical leave, although disagreement remains on how to pay for it. States like California, New Jersey and Rhode Island have found a way. Senator Susan Kent, DFL-Woodbury, talks about whether Minnesota may follow suit.
